Where Our Story Began

The Sensory Spot began with one Black mom and her autistic daughter trying to navigate loud, crowded spaces. Today, we're a social impact partner across the United States, blending sensory interior design, portable sensory sacks, and neurodiversity education so everyday places feel possible, not painful.

From Home To Community

Our journey started during Covid, outfitting homes when in-person therapies suddenly stopped. When we stepped back into restaurants, churches, doctor offices, and community events, it was clear most spaces were noisy, overwhelming, and unprepared for sensory needs. The gap was obvious, and so was our call to respond.

Why Lived Experience Matters

Lived experience is our starting point, not an afterthought. India's journey as a Black mom to an autistic daughter, paired with her master's in disability studies, grounds our work. Our team of parents, therapists, and educators translates daily sensory struggles into clear, doable changes for real spaces.

Our Mission And Vision

The Sensory Spot was born from one mom's search for support in noisy, overwhelming spaces. Today, we partner with restaurants, churches, clinics, and community venues to weave sensory design, tools, and training into daily life so neurodivergent people of every age are truly seen, supported, and welcomed.
